"For me, “The Taming of the Shrew” in no way is a comedy about the “art of direction.” The play starts with an induction. Sly moves into a different reality and lets himself be convinced that he is not a Sly at all. An illusion of a new world is created. I see the theme of correspondence between the reality and the theater and the art as the most important aspect. The reality is nothing else but a space for creativity; there is no such thing in objectivity; we have only what we’ve created. This play speaks about creativity; it tells that any relations could be established in the way they are desired. The Sun would never change, even if we call it a Moon. In other words, it is what that is important, and not how. This play tells that a dream, if it is a true dream, is capable to turn into reality. And that is it. The Theater itself is only a dream as well, as is any other piece of art…”
